Workshops
Workshop on "Quasi interactive analysis of big data with high throughput" (2025)

This workshop was held in Bologna (Italy) from the 8th to the 10th of January 2025. This
workshop, part of the activities related to the Spoke2 (“Fundamental Research and Space
Economy”) of the ICSC "National
Center on HPC, Big Data and Quantum Computing", aims to describe an interactive cloud-based
platform for high-rate analysis, based on declarative solutions and distributed resources. In
particular, how to best utilize them from a user perspective, making scientific analysis
applications even more efficient and faster.

Workshop of the CMS experiment at the LHC (2024)

This workshop was held in Rome (Italy) from the 7th to the 9th of October 2024. A summary
of the year by the italian community of the CMS experiment.
Workshop of the CMS experiment at the LHC (2021)

This workshop was held in Naples (Italy) from the 11th to the 13th of October 2021. A summary
of the year by the italian community of the CMS experiment.
Schools
Course on porting code and algorithms to GPUs

This school was held from the 30th June to the 4th of July 2025 in Bologna (Italy). I co-organized
the event, in the context of the the "National Center for HPC, Big Data, and Quantum Computing". The
programme includes GPU programming and the usage of portability tools like Alpaka.

INFN School on Efficient Scientific Computing 2022

This school was held from the 3rd to the 8th of October 2022, in Bertinoro (Italy). The programme
includes introductory lectures
on current trends in the evolution of processor architectures and parallel programming. This will be
followed by
more in-depth lectures on advanced programming with C++, efficient use of memory, floating-point
computation and
programming in a heterogeneous environment, exploiting the potential of multi-threaded computing, GPUs
and cluster
computing with MPI. Link to the school page

CMS (virtual) Data Analysis School 2020

This school was held online from the 23rd to the 30th of September 2020. The school was targeted to
physicists
interested in data analysis willing to extend their knowledge
and skills on the fundamental tools and techniques for High Energy Physics analysis in CMS. Link
to the school page here.
INFN School of statistics 2019

This school was held in Paestum (Salerno, Italy) from the 2nd
to the 7th of June 2019. The school was targeted to physicists
interested in data analysis willing to extend their knowledge
and skills in the field of statistical methods for particle,
astro-particle and nuclear physics. Link

Third International School on Open Science Cloud 2019
This school was a multi-disciplinary mainly meant for PhD
students, organized into two different tracks:
- Machine Learning methods and applications
- Comptuting Infrastructures (Cloud solutions and big data
workflows)
During the school, several hands-on sessions were given to
students and also a kaggle competition was held. Link
to the school page here.
At the end of the competition, I was awarded with the
second prize.
